Do you decorate for St Patrick’s Day? I really don’t go all out. Do you? But I like to have a little something out. And this little something is a 10 Minute St Patricks Day Craft. It is so easy that I feel silly sharing it with you. But sometimes you don’t need to spend a load of time creating.
A while back I painted several items in white to make different items look cohesive. Since then, I painted the candlestick gray and sold some of the other items. I kept the small white frame. For the seasons and holiday’s I change out the picture. Now, how easy is that! I did share what I did for New Year’s one year using the frame. Now the craft I did for St Patrick’s Day last year was an appliqued handtowel.
I know you know where I am going with this. It was hard finding a St Patrick’s Day card I liked. But I did. I got a St Patrick’s Day card that I felt would look good framed. As a matter of fact, I am able to use both the front of the card and the inside of the card.
Take the frame apart. Using the back of the frame, place it on the card as a pattern. Adjust it so the picture or phrase will look centered.
Draw around the four edges of the back of the frame. Set the back to the side.
Put the card on the cutting mat. Place the straight edge on one of the lines you drew. Use the rotary cutter and cut along the edge of the straight edge. Continue on the remaining three sides. Don’t do what I did by placing the straight edge on the card so that the cutter faces the design. I veered toward the design when I did that. Fortunately, it is hidden by the frame. Whew!
Place the card in the frame.
That is all there is to a 10 Minute St Patricks Day Craft. And of course, this can be updated for any other occasion. I even have a copy of sheet music with an old song, Old Cape Cod. It makes me think of summer when there isn’t any holiday coming up. But with the many holiday’s and special occasions, there is always a card or a pretty paper to brighten a little spot.
