Every year a group of friends and I have special holiday events we go to. This year two of them happen to be a day apart. It means a busy time. Immediately my thought is what I can have on hand to make Holiday Entertaining friends the easy way? I don’t consider myself the hostess with the mostest and I do not entertain often so I do look for tasty, fast and easy and most importantly quality such as Boar’s Head products. I mean let’s face it when I hear the name Boar’s Head I always think top notch food.
When I was asked if I would be interested in partnering with Boar’s Head to share their hummus I knew I had a winner. Boar’s Head is known for quality in taste and product.
Off to my favorite grocery store to stock up to entertain my friends not only on Friday but on Saturday as well. Yes it was hard to decide on flavors but I bought the Roasted Garlic because besides chocolate and caramel I love garlic. Another flavor I love is Fire Roasted Spinach and Artichoke. For the zing, who doesn’t love zing I bought Fiery Chipotle Pepper. Whoa is has a nice zing to it.
I hit the cracker aisle and got garlic flavored and spicy chipotle crackers. Then for the heath conscious I got vegetables to dip in the hummus.
Both events are for charity to benefit the local community. I am a big believer in giving back to my community. Friday’s event was Empty Bowls. Each year we have soup, bread, and water and get to take home a beautiful handcrafted pottery bowl.
When Deborah and I got back to my house we had a little snack of the Spinach and Artichoke hummus on crackers and chatted about plans for the rest of the day. It was so easy to make a fast little snack before she had to be on her way.
On Saturday Missy, Marianne, Marsha and I attended the annual event, which is a Tour of Homes decorated for Christmas sponsored by an organization called Entre Nous. Carol Niebanck, the past President explained this event is the fundraiser that will allow them to provide scholarships, and help needy families in our area. I wish I could show you some of the gorgeous houses all decorated for the Holiday but they won’t allow pictures because of security concerns. 🙁
