I must say although I am not the best cook I enjoy cooking and especially baking. It always seems we look back at the past year and reflect. Well, I looked back at my all time favorite recipes I shared this year. And they really are some of my favorites. I hope they will become yours too.
I started the year by sharing a black bean soup. This particular time I added the leftover Christmas ham. Usually, I make it meatless and it tastes so good either way. Especially the next day.
Another tasty recipe I absolutely love to make if I have leftover ham is the Sweet and Sour Ham recipe. Serve it with chicken fried rice and it is so delish.
For the winter months, I think we all like comfort food. I shared a tried and true comfort food recipe…pot roast in the slow cooker. And oh the house smells so good. That is a comfort also.
If you like chocolate cake you really should give this recipe a try. It is a made from scratch cake. And it is so rich and chocolatey. Oh, it is so good. I love the frosting also. I can eat it all up all by myself. That is how good it is.
Another favorite recipe in the sweet category is my friend, Marie’s zucchini bread recipe. Talk about moist and so yummy. I think I am gaining weight thinking about it.
Speaking of zucchini, there is a zucchini recipe that is a great side dish. Actually, I have been known to eat it as a main dish when I decide to eat healthily and need to drop a couple of pounds.
Then there is the recipe using grape tomatoes. It is a light sauce over spaghetti. And the best part is you can prepare it in 10 minutes.
But when I want to be bad and throw caution to the wind I make a burger marine. And what is a burger marine you ask? It is a hamburger on a submarine roll. Have I got your curiosity aroused? It is so good.
